ABOUT US

Our Purpose

The Keilor Basketball Association , otherwise referred to as the KBA operates out of the Keilor Basketball Stadium and provides programs for all age groups and skill levels.

 

The KBA is proud to have become and will continue to strive to be a source of enjoyment, positivity and influence in the local community, while also contributing to growing the presence and quality of Basketball in Australia.

Our represenetative team, the Keilor Thunder, continues to achieve and be recognised as fierce and respected competitors from our Junior through to our Senior teams.

Our Facilities

Since 1986, the centre of operations for the Keilor Basketball Association has been Keilor Stadium, located at Stadium Drive, Keilor Park, 3042.

 

In partnership with the Brimbank City Council, Keilor Stadium has been renovated and refurbished, with all facilities undergoing major upgrades. Now home to 6 regulation size courts and able to accommodate a capacity of 2000+, Keilor Basketball Association is able to further enhance it’s commitment to the growth of Basketball in Australia at all levels.

Competitions

Keilor Basketball Association operates both a Representative and Domestic program. The KBA is made up of 13 Junior Domestic Clubs who compete over two seasons. (Summer and Winter)

 

Home of the widely respected Keilor Thunder and with the largest representative program in Melbourne’s West, our teams are comprised of the following:

 

40+ Junior Male & Female teams, Youth Big V Male & Female teams and Senior NBL1 Male & Female teams

Programs

Keilor Basketball Association run a range of programs for children to participate and stayed involved in basketball.

 

Including Mini Thunder, our beginners program based for 5-8 year olds. An U8's competition for those who are looking to advance from Mini Thunder and play competitive games with minor rule constraints, Domestic Academy and Rep Ready programs.
