Keilor Basketball Association Announces Kristi Harrower’s Return as NBL1 Women’s Head Coach

​

Keilor, VIC – September 3, 2024 – The Keilor Basketball Association is thrilled to announce that Kristi Harrower will be returning for her second season as Head Coach of the NBL1 Women’s team. After an exceptional first year that saw the Thunder achieve remarkable success, Harrower’s continued leadership promises to propel the team to even greater heights.

In the 2024 season, Kristi Harrower’s inaugural year at the helm was nothing short of transformative. Under her guidance, the Keilor Thunder surged from a 16th-place finish in 2023 to a stellar 2nd-place finish in the 2024 NBL1 South competition. The team’s impressive performance culminated in a run to the NBL1 South Grand Final, where they finished as runners-up, showcasing both their tenacity and skill on the court.

“I’m excited to be back for season 2025 and continue to build on a great season we had in 2024’ said Harrower. “I’m grateful to be involved in a great club that really embraced me in my first year as Head Coach, and I’m looking forward to the upcoming season and working towards winning a championship. The team culture and chemistry we created really showed in what we achieved in our first season as a group, and I can’t wait to be a part of that again with some amazing, talented players we have in the program.’

Kristi Harrower, a highly respected figure in Australian basketball, brought a wealth of experience and expertise to the team. Her strategic acumen, motivational prowess, and deep understanding of the game were key factors in the Thunder’s resurgence. As she embarks on her second season, Harrower remains focused on maintaining the momentum and refining the team’s performance.

Keilor Basketball Association General Manager, Jackson Taylor, expressed his enthusiasm about Harrower’s return: “First and foremost, Kristi is fantastic person that has set an exceptional culture within the program. Her leadership and vision were instrumental in our turnaround last season. We are excited to see what we can achieve together in the upcoming season.”

The Keilor Thunder are poised to build on their recent successes with Harrower’s continued leadership. Fans can look forward to an exciting season of high-calibre basketball as the Thunder aim to make another strong push for the finals.

Keilor Basketball Association Announces Ash Arnott as NBL1 Men’s Head Coach

 

Keilor, VIC – September 5, 2024 – The Keilor Basketball Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Ash Arnott as the new Head Coach of the Keilor Thunders NBL1 Men’s team.

 

Coach Arnott brings a wealth of experience to this role. His recent positions include serving as an assistant coach with the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence and assisting with the U17 Australian World Cup team. Additionally, he contributed to the U16 Australian Asia Cup team, which secured a gold medal, and led the U15 Oceania Australian team to a gold medal as Head Coach. Furthermore, Ash has experience as a former Basketball Victoria Metro High-Performance Coach for men.

 

Ash Arnott has expressed his enthusiasm for this new opportunity: "I’m excited to be the next men’s head coach of Keilor and being a part of the KBA family. I am passionate about building a strong men's senior program that emphasises hard work, and toughness that will lead to an enjoyable style of play both for the players and the spectators.” He added, “I look forward to contributing to a team culture that fosters excellence on and off the court. I’m thankful for the trust put in me by Jackson and the board to lead this team. I’m excited to hit the court and get to work”

Keilor Basketball Association Announces Megan Jarvis Return as BIG V Women’s Head Coach

 

Keilor, VIC – September 10, 2024 – The Keilor Basketball Association is thrilled to announce that Megan Jarvis will be returning as the BIG V Youth League Women’s Head Coach. Megan began her coaching journey with Keilor Thunder in 2009, where she began by working with Junior Rep teams. Her dedication and expertise led her to the Keilor Thunder BIG V program in 2012, where she has since played a significant role with various teams, including the Youth Women’s, Men’s, and other Women’s teams. In addition to her contributions at Keilor Thunder, Megan has also been actively involved in Basketball Victoria and the Vic Metro program for approximately four years, further demonstrating her commitment to developing talent and advancing the sport.

 

Megan is ‘thrilled to return as Head Coach for our VYCW team in 2025!’ she has ‘been a part of Keilor Thunder as both a coach and player’ and it fills her with ‘immense pride to continue leading such an incredible group of young athletes.’ Megan believes that the ‘2025 season promises to be an exciting journey as we focus on developing our young talent and maintaining our formidable presence on the court.’

 

Megan Jarvis is a core part of the Keilor Basketball Association and we are excited to have her back for another season, and looking forward to seeing where she takes our VYCW team next year.

Keilor Basketball Association Announces Dylan Cole as BIG V Men’s Head Coach

​

Keilor, VIC – September 12, 2024 – The Keilor Basketball Association is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dylan Cole as BIG V Youth League Men’s Head Coach for our 2025 season. This will be Dylan’s return to this role, and we couldn’t be more excited. Dylan has been a long time member at the Keilor Basketball Association, coaching across our top-performing VJBL, VYC and NBL1 programs. Dylan is currently assisting for the 4th year in the VIC Country U18s Men’s group which heads to Brisbane this year.  

 

Dylan is ‘really excited about returning with this special group next year.’ He believes that ‘We are building a treasured culture among the VYC group and have big aspirations for the year to come.’

Dylan Cole has been a vital part of the Keilor Thunder throughout his years, we can’t wait to see where he leads the VYCM team next year!
